DayOne Chernarus offers first-person DayZ adventure without bases. Characters belong to this instance and are not shared with other servers in the network. Small containers can be buried, unlike larger drybags and sea chests. Barrels, sea chests and tents have a stated persistence of fourteen days; improvised shelters persist for three days. Logging out to escape an encounter or using a restart to ambush an opponent already being watched is prohibited.

Alternate accounts are allowed, but multiple accounts must not be used within the same restart cycle or to return to a fight scene after dying.
