How to join a GTA 5 server

Check the client

Check whether the listing specifies FiveM or RAGE MP. Use the client required by the server. For RAGE MP, follow the community’s official joining instructions.

Choose a city with entry requirements that suit you

Before preparing your character, check how to join the community. Open access and an application process require different preparation.

Which entry process suits you?

You want to join without an application

Look for clearly stated open-access instructions. Read the rules and any other entry requirements before connecting.

You are willing to apply for a whitelist

Check the application steps, any interviews and the stated requirements. Wait for confirmation that you have access before joining.

You are new to roleplay

Look for documented support: a starter guide, a help contact or an introduction for new players. “Beginners welcome” alone does not explain what help is available.

The entry requirements are missing

Check the community’s website or joining instructions. An unspecified whitelist does not mean open access.

Prepare for your arrival

  1. Check the prerequisites

Check the required client, in-game language and any age or communication requirements. Ask the community to confirm missing details.

  2. Follow the entry process

Read the rules, then prepare your character according to the instructions. If an application is required, follow the community’s stated process.

  3. Connect to the server

Once you meet the requirements, use the server’s connection link or address. If access is refused, note the exact message and check whether you have been approved.

Frequently asked questions

How are servers listed and checked?

The selected sort determines the listing order. Online player counts come from status queries, without votes or paid ranking. The map shows an estimated connection IP country. Language filters use operator declarations, server settings and text, or information from the official website. The source is shown on the listing. Machine country does not determine the in-game language.
